Relay For Life

Last weekend was Relay for Life.  This year it was held on the track at the Slinger high school.

The kids tie-dyed their t-shirts.
Hannah, Chey, and Jack-jack helped Pam and me set up camp for the overnight event.

Jack-jack making our sign.
This years theme was Holiday.  Since we walked with the Erin Inn team we chose St. Patrick's Day.  We decorated with lots of green, rainbows, shamrocks, and some little leprechaun friends.  It was warm in the afternoon, but a great night for the walk.

Campsite up and ready.

Hannah's First Softball Game

Tonight was Hannah's first game of the season.  They played against Monches and won 17-8.  Hannah pitched for 4 innings and played 3rd base for the other three.  Had some good hit,  too.  Way to play hard!

Chey's Frist Softball Game

Thursday June 7th Chey played her first softball game of the season.  It was a good experience playing with a new group of girls.  She played Right Center field.  I had to laugh to myself.  After the game Chey had said, "Boy Mom, those Rubicon girls are tough!".  What make it so funny is that Rubicon is the team she is playing on.

You did a good job Cheyenne!  We're proud of you!

Rossman School Awards Program

This morning Rossman School held it's annual Awards Program.  Every grade has some awards that are given out.  They also put together a little slideshow and make it special for the 5th graders since they will be "graduating" from the elementary school to the middle school.

Cheyenne received four awards.  She is the first one on the left of the kids standing.  She is wearing a white shirt and jean shorts.

Jack-jack even got one!  You can barely see him up in front, but he is wearing a blue sweatshirt and light blue shorts.  He is the fifth one standing from the right.

Awesome Job Cheyenne and Jack-jack!
You make us super proud!

7th Grade Rocket Launch

During the last few days of school the 7th graders work on assembling and painting rockets in their science classes.  Yesterday was the day they boarded buses after lunch and headed out to the Hartford airport to launch them.

Hannah's first launch was a success.
Her second launch failed.

All in all a fun day.  Way to go Beans!

Pike Lake Field Trip

Today the 5th grade had their annual field trip to Pike Lake.  I got to go with Cheyenne and her class.  We split up into smaller groups and hiked the trails.  While we were hiking we worked on finding items on a scavenger hunt list.  The kids really had a good time "hunting".

It was an absolutely beautiful day.  Nobody could've planned it better!  The kids were very well behaved and really did enjoy themselves.  It was a lot of fun.  A field trip I am sure they will remember.

I had a lot of fun Cheyenne with you and your 5th grade class.  Thank you for taking me with you!

Last Minute School Projects

Of course we had over two weeks to work on the project.  Of course we waited until the last minute.

Jack-jack had to make an environmental diorama for his last science test grade of 2nd grade.  He chose to make a diorama of the dessert.  The diorama had to include the plants and animals in their natural surroundings.  Hannah and Chey offered to help him with his project.  They all worked very well together brainstorming and creating.  They all worked very well together to help Jack-jack create his final product without doing it for him.

Way to go you guys!  Proud of you for how you worked so well together!  And Jack-jack, your project turned out great!

Jack-jack's First Baseball Game

Last night Jack-jack played his first baseball game of season 2012.  His team is the Orioles this year.  He was last up to bat.  He got on base with big hits all three times he was up at bat.  In the outfield he got to play 3rd base and back up to 1st place.

Jack-jack ready to play some ball.

An e-mail from the coaches following up the game.

Hello Orioles!

Just wanted to send a quick message about how much fun our game was, and how well everyone did! We are so proud of all the work the kids did at bat and on the field, we are just so excited to have you all on our team, and so impressed with all the effort all you kids put in. Congratulations on our first win and a game well played! And a big thank you to all the parents who helped by being on the field or supporting from the stands.

Way to go kiddos!

Brewer Game For The Boys

June 2nd the boys went to their first Brewer game at Miller Park.  Uncle Pee Wee got tickets and asked if Big Jack and Little Jack wanted to go with him and Uncle Gary.  Jack-jack was unsure at first, but did decide to go along.

Ready for the game to start.
The Brewers vs. The Pirates.

When the boys got home from the game I asked if he enjoyed it.  He said he wants to go again!  I guess that means he had a good time.
